What an awesome day!!This morning I went to a ‘Starting Solids’ class with Ros. It was so fascinating. I knew a lot about starting baby on solids and which ones to start with etc but she really added a great spin to it all. She also helped us to understand when exactly we should start solids with our little munchkins. Added to that she was explaining how we can use meal times to teach basic manners and all round good behaviour. She showed us how to make some simple yet fun meals for when our babies get older and how to use these fun meals to teach things like texture, colour,shapes,numbers etc. There was just so much more to the class than food!
After my class it was off to Pia’s house to meet all the August mommies little ones. It was a crazy yet awesome afternoon. All together there was 16 adults and 8 babies. A fun house if I ever saw one :-)
The men sat around the braai discussing their new roles as fathers and the women sat inside nattering about our new roles as mothers. It was surprising to see just how similar yet at the same time how different everyone's approach to parenting is. It was great to see all the mommies again. It had been waaaayyyy to long since the last get together. Needless to say all the Babies are just too cute.
